Elmo met accident

thank you all for replying my msg regarding the black fur and the pool, appreciate it so much. Just wanna let u guys know that Elmo was hit by my brother's car at home, midnight, 2 days ago. We all got awake by hearing him crying so hard..Unsure After that, he could not stand & walk . We went to the vet and the doctor gave him an injection for pain and infection, and i was told that it was a minor dislocation.. he also has minor wound on his leg and inner thigh.. now Elmo can only walk a bit but he could hardly get up once he has sat/lied down. Elmo was hit when he was exactly 5 mths old. he's still so little and innocent.. Frown Hope he will get well soon.. (I have uploaded some pics of Elmo and the pool - Just bought the pool and Elmo had the accident right on the same night, hasn't had a chance to play yet )

Re: [laurentia] Elmo met accident

oh no, poor elmo!

thank godness he's doing fine now. just a dislocation. no broken bones. 5 months old is still quite fragile... but am sure ample care will be given by you and your family.

let's hope he get well soon and jump into his new pool when he's well!

Re: [laurentia] Elmo met accident

Oh Oh~ Poor Elmo!!!
Is he still crying for pain?
don't let him take stairs... when u bring him to the vet for follow up... do have someone to carry him, hold him tight in the car just in case there's a sudden-stop or he has travel sickness and cant sit still.

Hmm.... poor thing... must be really hurt and scared.Unsure

Re: [laurentia] Elmo met accident

gosh ... poor elmo.

i had a similar situation with my new pup. i brought snowy and the other naughty fellow ronny to my aunt's house. my nephews being first time playing with puppies, got too excited n at the same time scared too. the heaviest of them, tried to avoid ronny's "attack" and jumped backwards, stepping on snowy's right foot. immediately snowy hid below the table .... for a moment i was scared that his leg in broken as he was limping a bit. checked his bones n thank goodness he was okay. he looked so vulnerable at that moment. if his leg is broken, i dunno what my reaction would be.

hopefully elmo recovers soon.

Re: [laurentia] Elmo met accident

oh do let us know how elmo's doing. HOpe he gets well soon. Was the car hit from the car tyre, or from the car body hitting him?

Well, we had a dog (Prince) before who went missing for a week, and when we found him he was limping really badly, so we thought maybe he was hit by a car while he was missing, but after a month back at home, he recovered completely.

And you know Juno? Our so very talented cocker who can jump anything? Well, as a puppy, I shut her paw accidentally in a door and I was so so cared I had ruined her for life, but now she is like top agility dog.

So wish elmo lots of wishes t get well soon. Smile

Re: [xyne] Elmo met accident

I just bought a dvd for trainning dogs... it teaches us how to avoid doggie jumping up on us, the trick is to turn away and show tht you do not like him jumping up and definitely u do not want to push him away cuz he will get very excited and will do it again. =) it's a pretty good one, now Elmo has learned to sit, stay, down, shake hands. just those simple ones, but it really helps a lot! ;)

Re: [laurentia] Elmo met accident

i tried to say NO to harvey n 'sometimes' he gets it...
but popeye, being small n afraid of not getting attention his bigger housemates r tends to jump on me.
My vet says to lift my leg n avoid him while saying NO...
until now he hasnt gotten that idea... CrazyCrazy
