Dog friendly accomodation needed

My husband and I and lhasa apso dog are looking for a three month let in Malaysia. We want to be in a rural area preferably by a beach. Maybe Penang?
I understand pets are not allowed in condos? If so what other kind of accommodation is there available for let?
Is there alot of dog friendly areas where you can take a dog out for a walk?
Can anybody help with some advice?
