NEwbie goin for the Show

hi all dog lover,

just got my puppy September can i join the show ? i m still waiting for the cert which the seller promise 6 or 8 months later..if my puppy dun have any training Tongue

can i join the show with her ? sorry for silly question..NEWbie begining here...just hope can have fun in the events.!! Smile

Your pup

*Atleast must 6 months old,

*Must collected the pup cert and transfer the ownership of the pup under your name,

*then only you can participate in MKA Dog Show.

In the mean time, start learning on how to groom your pup & train the pup to stand still in long time & know how to heal beside you.

hi chris, can gv me some tips how to make them stand still for a long time kah? My LR will automatically sit beside us when v stop walking n will not stand up until we start walking lah. tks in advance.

when i got my cert , i need to fill in another form to transfer the name is it ?

Hopefully i didnt get conned by that seller la..if i manage to get the cert ... Unsure

When you get the cert, make sure there is another form for transfering of ownership, with the signature of your breeder. Then you shall proceed to MKA with that form, and they will guide you through it.

Just hold his bottom up when you stop walking and command "Stand". Prolong the time period in "Stand' Command starting from 1min then 2min & so on..... As soon as he starts to move, say "Stand" and tell him "Good boy, stand.", or you can start by facing your dog, holding a favorite treat. As you step back, your dog will most likely stand up to try to reach the treat. As he does, praise him and say, "Good boy, stand".

After your dog understands the "Stand" command teach him to stay while he is standing. Have your dog stand make sure he is standing comfortably by checking his legs. Put the palm of your hand in front of his face and say "Stay". Praise him quietly while he is doing what you want. You may repeat the word 'stay' a couple of times. Say it in a normal voice. When you finish, say "Good boy".

The form is green color with number 5 on top right. Usually when you collect the cert the breeder will give to you together with this form. The breeder required to sign the form to be given to you for transfering the ownership of your dog.

my LR n ECS also got the green form but never transfer until today's date coz no reason to. Maybe when the time I intend to show them, I'll consider on it lah.

Chris if someone give me a dog with mka cert but the cert is her name can i enter the dog show or not? Right now the dog is totally belong to me. I want to show my boston terrier but how to train her since she like a lembu. Any suggestion ar chris

If you didn't transfer the ownership you are required your breeder to sign the dog show entry form. Unless your breeder don't mind sigining it. It will be abit troublesome right.

Bring your dog out more often & let your dog socialise more with human & dogs. Best bring your dog to OB school.

Lembu mean he don't want to walk?

You must be a MKA member than only entitled with the special rate.

Did you sign & fill up your details about transfering the pup ownership to the breeder or petshop? If you didn't how can the breeder or petshop told you will mail you the cert once transfer. If I receive the cert I will double check the microchip number on your pup & also will call up MKA to check whether the cert are real one.

Yes you can call MKA for checking the microchip number.

Ask them what type of dog, date of birth of the dog & also the breeder detail in this microchip number.

yes i did call yesterday..the reply the cert havent process yet(the breeder didnt sent back the form 2 which need to certified by vet) aiyoo...i called the breeder .he also blur blur ....apa la..he only told me..as long as get the microchip..then means u r safe la..dun worry ..wa lau.. Unsure

Did you confirm with MKA about your dog sex, date of birth & etcs?

Thats mean your breeder should bring your pup to the vet for inserting the microchip not you. Thats how the breeder get the vet sign the form 2 containing your pup details. If not how he get the vet sign the form 2 without your pup visit the vet? You know wat I mean right.

Getting a microchip will not guarantee you MKA will issue the cert.

1/2 yr RM40 + transfer RM20. So total RM60 only wor......hahahahahaha

U sure RM20 to transfer only ah. I thought I saw a lot of other sap sap sui fees that adds up to RM100++ even with membership.

What about the late surcharge of RM50. I think sure kena liao right. Hahh gizmo already 10 months old. What's that postage fee for certified pedigree? Have to pay also?

If got 1/2yr, then i go apply for 1/2 yr, 1 month later only transfer. I didnt know got 1/2 yr. Just apply to get special rate to transfer. Hahahahah Tongue

Make sure the form you didn't put the date so MKA will not charge you the late charges fee loh.

ok ok i must go back and check and see got any dates written or not. LOL i only glanced thru it once and then chuck it away liao....hahahahahah cos calculated the amount of money I have to pay just to transfer, thought I will never do it unless and until when needed. Haha....

I think I only saw one signature, name and IC no kua. Not sure bout the rest. Ok me going back later to check it out if I remember.

if u intend go to dog show. first u must train ur puppy since 3 months old.

before go to show ur dog must stand well and friendly to the judge. the way ur dog stand it take point and the temparement of slow jogging also take point too.
