Flat dogs

Is it true what I've heard? that they're going to pass legislation to allow dogs in flats, apartments, condos, tower blocks, whatchamacallit?

Re: [PangurBan] Flat dogs

This is the article my cousin sent me :

Good news for dog lovers, WednesdayMarch 22, 2006, The
Star

GOOD news for dog lovers who live in condominiums and
flats: you maybe able to keep canines in your homes
soon.

Nanyang Siang Pau reported that the Housing and
Local Government Ministry had finalised its draft of
bylaws on dog ownership, and once this was approved the
residents of high-rise buildings wouldbe allowed to
own dogs.

However, the dog owners will have to obtain written
approval from the local authorities.

The ministry had also agreed to set up a veterinary
department responsible for overseeing the licensing of
dogs and maintaining a record of the dogs, the daily
added.

It also quoted Malaysian Association for Responsible
Pet Owners president Dr Jon S. Satyamoorthy as saying
that dog owners would haveto take their pets to the
department for health checks, and could apply for
licences once the department had given its clearance.

He hoped the draft would be approved and enforced
within two months.

Re: [zen] Flat dogs

you stay in condo with your Ben Ben? no one complaint? always "smuggler" him in and out and no one bother? he doesn't make any voice even though no one at home?? i'm thinking of doing the same thing as you... i just moved to a condo and they don't allow any pet, even cats which are usually allowable in apartment... that's why i doubt they will allow dog even the government pass the rules to allow doggie in apartment... what a stupid rules...

Re: [yeen] Flat dogs

hi,

yes..it is kinda troublesome to stay in condo/apt...i hate it too...so last time i don dare to have any dogs..until i moved to this new apt where i saw quite a number of house here got dogs and cats...and the management is quite about it...so then only i start to have my 2 puppies.

well....sometimes it's due to some irresponsible owner who did not clean up their doggies' pee/poo...some even let the dog to pee in the lift!!! oh, if only i can catch those doing it...i will definitely scold them...these are the ppl who might cause the management to disallow animals in the apartment!!!

how i wish i can move to a landed house soon

Re: [yeen] Flat dogs

yup, so far nobody complaint bout it. Ben Ben getting bigger & bigger now, so its no way for me to "smuggler" him in & out. Sometimes I heard dog bark at my place but nv c ppl leash their dogs outside. Ben Ben will only bark whenever me & my housemates com bck home, he just too excited. Sly and he sometimes bark when he heard others dog bark....busy body.

I think as long as we as a owner taking good care of our furkid, be a responsible owner then the management wil "open 1 eye, close 1 eye". Wink

zen and ben ben..

it takes only 1 irresponsible owner to open the other closed eye

it takes 100 responsible owners to close the both eyes

Re: [SupaMolly] Flat dogs

Hi everyone,

It has been a year now and can anyone update me as to what is the latest on the issue of dog been allow in a condo/apartment?

I have a Dach at home and move into a condo a year ago. The management here need written permission but they always keep an eye closed on this matter as my dach doesn't make much noise except stranger comes into the house which in this case a good alarm system for me. She is very well behave so i got no problem keeping her here but is sure good to know if the Law has been passed atleast i have the peace of mind.

Some neighbour at the lower floor are not happy with me over one incident. My Ruby/Dog was frighthen by her shocking Shockedreaction when the lift open with me carrying my Ruby. At that point of time both her and my dog was shock and my dog reacted with a bark and that freak her out even more and she screamShocked. Caused much of a drama and the husband came running as if there is a moster in the lift but i guess they are been over reacting cos at that time i was carrying my dog/Ruby not that she is let lose and unleash. Well, to say the least i dont care and still doing the same thing everyweek when i bring my dog out for a walk. ( You dont expect me to walk 8 floor down) further more stairs is a big no no for my Ruby.

SO can anyone update me further on the issue above? Thanks...

Re: [CalvinKLYap] Flat dogs

I have posted earlier (I think under general chit chat). Was given a warning letter by Management to 'do something'. Otherwise, I shall be fined RM 2K and jail of not more than a year....

Anyhow, soon after that, I have already engaged few agents to sell my unit. Till to date, no luck yet Unsure. However, yesterday the Building Manager personally called me up and ask me 'to stop my dog from barking'. I got soooo mad, cos I know my dogs are well-behaved and do not bark unnecessarily. I called hme, and my partner told me that everythng is ok at hme.

Called the Building Manager, again & told him off. Ask him to despatch his guards to find out the source of the bark. They found the source and was told today, the doggie from my the higher floor neighbour has been removed...Aiyoo..the poor doggie, has been barking and crying from 6 a.m owards..for the past 2 weeks & everybody is pointing finger at me.

The Building Manager apologize and said he is actually ok with it. Its just that the residents are complaining. He wouldnt mind to practise the 'close one eye policy'. If we are lucky we have responsible pet owner like us who really attend to our dog. Unfortunately, some pet owners just have dogs for the sake of having one.And that's where the problem arise...when other ppl start complaining..

I am a classic example. Have stayed in the condo for 1 year plus with no complain. Come newcomers /irresponsible pet owner...I 'kena' for nothing. I conclude with 'I am definately moving out'....
