Help ! Worms in puppy's poo!!
Help! My shih tzu puppy, Shandy is 2 months old. She just got dewormed this evening. Now, at night, i notice a thick fisherman like string in her poo. Using paper and tissue i tried to take it out to check.
It turned out to be a big whitish-transparent worm that is roughly 10cm long!!!! I'm not sure how many were there but i know there were at least 2 of that size and 1 smaller one. Very disgusting and alarming!!!

I know that she may have worms in her poo after deworming to remove those worms. But cacing that big in size??? What type of worm is it?? How do i find out?

I'm very worried...Pls help advice me pls! Frown

They seemed to be unactive...maybe semi-dead...coz it moved a little...is this ok??
will there be anymore worms him her tummy/intestines for now?
her next deworming schedule is 2 months time...

Leecy can you help me?cos my frens dog also 2 months old poo worm...got one is alive others mati already wan..and its been few days already and is whitish brown colour wan the worm...why is the puppy pooing worm??is it serious?thanksss!!

Ask ur friend to give deworm tablet to the pup. That will solve ur problem.

Ur friend never give any deworm tablet to the pup before meh???

There are many kinds of dewormer in the market. Just go to the vet to enquire. Normally dewormer comes in a combination of a few chemical some 2 some three. Basically it is a combo to battle different kinds of worm in the dog.

Basically the big worm like mee hun is a round worm. You will see in stool after deworming for the first time. Occasionally even in the second or subsequent deworming. Some puppy can even vomit the worm in the burden is high and some can die of obstruction. Hookworm is normally very difficult to detect unless you play with the stool. Similarly are whipworm. Tapeworm, you normally see the pieces of tapeworm crawling out of the anus or on the floor moving around especially your dog scooting around.

Depending on the dewormer, some dewormer kill the worm upon contact, some starve them, some paralysed them... That's why you see the worm still moving after deworming but it does not mean the dewormer is no good.

Last time wen i did the last vac the vet gave me the dewormed tablet which to give mocha after a week to eat.nth happen then suddenly 1day i found mocha poo got worms then i ask the vet they advise to give dewormed tablet again lo.after i gave then the next morning poo worms again.now is ok oredi

Is very much depend on ur dog.if they often go outdoor is advise to dewormed every 3mths lo.normally is half yr once onli.
