Re: [adyong85] n3w puG... toilet training???

well, 2 months old is the best time to train ur pup, he will be a fast learner. i think u must spare ur weekends to accompany ur dog, as it is very hard to predict when he will do his business.

dont give him too much space b4 u successfully train him, so that once u see he is trying to pee or poo, bring him to the newspaper, if he does the right thing, reward him with treats! if he does wrongly, dont punish him, or will cause negative effect. hope this help.

HiSmile,

Sry for you to clean the whole house which is full of peeUnimpressed. Let's skip 2 the main part. Teach your pup how 2 pee and poo at correct place:

1) If your dog pees at the wrong spot, pull by collar or carry him and let him smell the pee. Then hit him on his mouth and say No!Mad

2) Bring him to the toilet and tell him to pee and poo there. After a few minutes to let him be inside there, find for the pee or poo. Then praise him when he pees at the correct placeSmileor give him a snack.

Hope this tips will help ya improve your dogie's attitude.Good Luck!

Re: [adyong85] n3w puG... toilet training???

When she's a little oleder then she'll understand where will she be doing it. Try putting her in the toilet. Or.... when you leave, you put her in the cage or the playpen. Then you can take her out to pee when you come homeSmile

I use to do this everytime when i come back from skool. My mum always tells me that so i can remember... Outside is better cs u dont have to clean using the tissue cs it's very tiring.

Re: [adyong85] n3w puG... toilet training???

Locking dogs up in the toilet isnt bad. Just that it will always remind the dog where to pee or poo. I think your pug will get it later when you lock her inside the toiletSmile. Just let her in the toilet 4 about 5-10 min then you see where is the poo and pee. If she already done that, praise her like i did to my dog.

Re: [adyong85] n3w puG... toilet training???

well, you might notice normally a pup will do his business once after he is out from cage, so that is the most important moment. stay with him & observe, if he pee or poo at the right place, give treats.

if wrong, grab him to the right place. yes it is true he will stop but he knows he suppose to pee or poo there. another tip is wet a little of his pee on the newspaper so that he knows there is the place he suppose to pee.

I strongly disagree if you punish your dog, or else there is high chance whenever you want to grab him, he will pee accidentally as he afraid you might bit him. the key point to give him treats whenever he does right is to make him happy to do wat you asked him to.

Re: [ahdrew] n3w puG... toilet training???

i think it's normal for the doggie to poo after eating.

mine's the same. so what i do is to look out for her after she finish eating... when she looks like she going to poo, say NO and bring her to the spot (in my case, i put old newspaper).
