Hi Axist3, If you dont mind, I would like to put in my 2 cents worth. In my opinion, I dont think a 1 to 1 training class is very effective. First of all, how well your dog does is mostly based on the master's (you) work with him (your dog). The doggy needs consistency. Practicing the things you learn in class with him everyday for about 15 to 20 minutes per session will strengthen his ties with you and enable him to understand what you want him to do better. Also in a class where there is a group of other students, you will also be able to socialize your dog and learn from the other student's mistakes. Scruffy is attending OB class now and he seems to be doing very well. He enjoys the class and seem to be looking forward to every Sunday. And when he comes home from class, he is the most satisfied well behave dog I have ever seen. Making friends and getting to play with other dogs in class also helps him get along with other dogs better. Amazingly he is willing to share his food with other dogs when before this he is very possesive of his food. Most importantly your and your dog have to have fun in class!
