Christmas Dress-up Party

Hi there,

After our recent successful outing in Kota Kemuning. There are numerous requests to have a fun party.. Since, Christmas/New Year is coming soon. We could host another Christmas Dress-up party for our furkids. The venue is not confirmed though. But the tentative date/time would be 21/Dec @ 9 a.m. ... Meanwhile, pls. start to think how to 'decorate' ur furkid(s)! Wink

Appreciate any suggestion...

Smile
regards,

CD Moo

Woh...woh...3 more weeks from now. What about PD as what jason and khoo mentioned in the other thread. But KK is just fine with me. Hope that Bonney wouldn't get "rape" by Rex. CrazyWinkTongue heheh just kidding.

Hi Boon,

Up to majority, I'm ok with either place.. Smile. So, does it mean the prefered venue must close to the water ( sea, lake, river, stream ) Wink ?

I wouldn't use 'rape' .. but more on 'molest / stroking' .. Smile . Hope to see Bonney in this gathering.

Re: [cdmoo] Christmas Dress-up Party

There are pros and cons. KK is a lovely place for dogs to go off leash and we're familiar with the area. But most of our dogs have not experience the beach and the sea. That would be something interesting. However, the drawback here is identifying a place in PD that's suitable. That would take half of our time searching for a place when we're there unless someone could positively identify one. Simple bar-b-q at the beach..wow..that would be nice. Lets hear from the rest.

Re: [jasonlyh] Christmas Dress-up Party

Either PD or KK wud be fine but IMO if we were to go to PD, dressing up the furkids will not be such a good idea (?)...firstly they'll get wet, sandy and dirty in no time and secondly it'll be too hot at the beach for them to be in clothes.....PD will be a good choice for those who hv not brought their furkids to the beach before and wanna experience it but most likely dogs will hv to be on leash, unless there's a secluded area where there are hardly anyone else around?

As for KK, chances are there will not be as many ppl as in the beach so we can hv a dress up and dogs get to run free.

Oh one more thing.....if your dog has ingested too much of sea water he may hv diarrhea but this will only last a day mostly....I've experienced once the same day on the beach itself my dog poo'd watery poo...a bit here and there all over the beach and I ended up having a hard time cleaning after him coz the poo is very watery....so be prepared to bring lots of plastic bags to pick up their mess.

wkser, thinking of a day's trip. At least the dogs can experience the sand and the sea. Just a suggestion to see the response. Otherwise KK is still the best venue. Let the majority decide. Cheers

Re: [cdmoo] Christmas Dress-up Party

KK sounds good to me. 21st Dec ok also. But you think we should maybe go earlier so it's not so hot for our furkids (and us also!) ?? unless too early on a Saturday morning for most people?

PD sounds fun, but a bit far for me... maybe next year when Brinkley's grown up a bit and we can bring her too.

As for dressing up, errr... Luckey doesnt like clothes, but we'll see what we can come up with. Maybe a ponsietta collar . LaughLaugh

hi Luckey,

I don't mind to be early (I'm a morning person..) Smile . It's only 10-15 mins walk from my house anyway..

As what Jason pointed out, we need to identify a secluded spot in PD.. which is quite tough given limited time. ..

Re: [serene_kwlim] Christmas Dress-up Party

Hi Serene,

There are some members who need to bring their doggies for MKA training on Sundays ( 4 - 6 pm) . The furkids will be worn-out after the gathering, which probably ends @ noon, and hence , probably too tired for the afternoon training. Hence, Saturday was suggested as a better day to have gathering.

Not too sure if 22/Dec (Sunday) is a training day. If so, then the gathering has to be Sat. (21/Dec).

hi jason , i just miss the agility party ...it's look fantastic when i saw the photo!!@Wink. hope i can make it this time.! i bring my dog to pd before ...tell u jason, they even swim faster than me...Laugh! can't belive ! but one thing have to consider is they will swim far away from the beach...it's minght be dangeous abit!!

anyway it fun to have a party at pd....! but one thing have to be consider again is about the salt water..., after swiming your dag minght get wet with the salt water(unless) you dun let them swim in the sea, that will be useless if have a party in PD. second thing is where to bath your lovely pet?, another problem also, then will be the final thing is that how to get dry the dog before travelling back to KL...through is consider a long journey for dog...if they are wet. wish you selamat hari raya!!Tongue

Hi,

Just curious.. where exactly did u bring your dog for a swim in PD? Is that area dog-friendly ??

We may not have the gathering in PD as (1) Distance (from KL) & (2) Finding a dog-friendly spot is a major concern at the moment...

If it isn't in PD, I may be able to attend. Yep, Mocca will probably come... I haven't decided what to dress *her* up as Wink. I'm not even sure if she will tolerate wearing stuff... I know Sandra won't mind, (the poor girl has been subjected to wearing Santa hats, ribbons, etc) but she can't come as she's not very good with other dogs.

hihi....Smilejust came back from my home town...(JOHOR), i did't stay over nite there...it's was a day trip. i went to a resort (something like Guaman ...can't actuclly remember the name of the resort, have to double check again with the map, as it was 1/2 year ago...i dun known wherether it was a dog friendly place or not coz we are not passing through the resort main lobby...but one thing i can make sure is, that place is a nice place for dog where by not so many ppl there, coz the resort is far away from PD town.about 20 mins drive from the PD town ...(wz no jamp), the resort it self aledi have a nice huge swiming pool, so definate the hotel guest will not go and swim at the sea water. it's really funCool . after that we shower our dogs( my friend with thier shih tzu, a rott, and my eng.cocker) at the pool side.

Luckey is getting soooo scary! She thinks she is superman or something, she jumps off the backs of sofas (high sofas) and yesterday she took the short cut down the stairs by jumping through the bannister railings on the side of the stairs down like the equivalent of 6 steps... my heart jumped out of my ribcage!!!

hi KawChai (a.k.a small dog ?) Smile

Well, the last gathering was on agility.. so our doggies got the chance to jump around the obstacles and so forth.. But generally, we, the papas & mamas , just gathered to have some snacks, drink, and chit-chat. For the doggies.. they would just checking each other out, identifing their friends/foes, licking each other, chit-chat, begging for food, drink, rest, wandering freely.. basically having a good time Cool

Typically, it would last less than 3 hours. So, r u coming ??

Hi Luckey,
Sounds good. We can wrap up the gifts and put a no. on each of them and do a lucky draw...
So, each dog will receive one gift..
I think any amount between $10 & $20 for the gift is affordable for most members.. Right? Smile

Hi Stanley,

Refers "Everyone who attend the party must bring one gift" ,

It should be if you bring X dogs, then have to bring X gifts.. This is to ensure each furkid will have exactly one gift.. What u think?

Hi CD Moo. Please count me in as well. Hmmp… I will buy the drinks. Besides mineral water what do you guys/gals want?! Chrysanthemum? Soft drinks? I will also bring some toys for ‘them’ to play… like ball, Frisbee… Oh I have an idea… maybe we should have ‘Dog’s racing’… Tongue the owner will start calling their dog name once the bell ring... and see which doggie is the fastest to run after their owner?Cool

Re: [Cheryl] Christmas Dress-up Party

Hi Cheryl,

Good. Very kind of you to supply the drinks Smile. In my opinion, just water will do instead of soft drinks.

Besides the racing, we can have obedience trials (like the training) , fetch games etc..

May be this round, each of us will pull their dog to the centre of the field (the rest have to be on-leash and aside to minimize any distraction) and perform their favourite stunts / tricks..

Re: [jasonlyh] Christmas Dress-up Party

hi jason, will find out the name of the resort and let you known later. but i dun known wherether the place is dog friendly or not~, coz that time when i go there was during the none peek season, and we are trying to hide out dog when we walk to the beach, after that when we finish our game, we wash up our dog near to the pool side and eventuallly there are no one there at the pool side, therefor we manage to clean them up.

the dog are in the wet condition when we get back to KL, coz it's almost evening time, and we dun have any electrical supply (dryer) to dry them up. that will be the main problem if want to bring dog to PD.But it's really fun even we are so tried after we get back.

Re: [KawChai] Christmas Dress-up Party

For ppl from KL, just look for Middle Ring Road II and proceed towards Klang. Middle Ring Road II will connect to Kesas near Bukit Jalil Stadium.

Proceed towards klang and you will pass through two toll plazas and continue futher and you will pass through exits for Subang, then Puchong + Shah Alam. Not too far after Shah Alam exit, you will see and big road sign showing the exit to Kota Kemuning. Turn left to go in.

On the way in, you will pass an arch and then come to a Round About. Make a right turn at this round about and continue straight until you come to a Y junction where you need to turn left. Continue again and you will come to another Y junction and again you turn left. Not too far from this juction is the site for our meet.

Cheers

Hi all

I missed the agility gathering but was so excited to hear bout this Christmas party!

Jodie (my 4 mth old GSD), me and my wife would be joining you all at this party. I am new to this forum but am glad to hear that everyone is invited. Such wonderful news. She hasn't really had the chance to meet with so many doggies before and I think it would be a great experience for her.

So I will be there with some titbits, a gift (for exchange) and if you guys need an ice box, I have a medium sized cooler.

Cheers!

Re: [boon] Christmas Dress-up Party

Dear Friends,

I really really feel like bringing my Dane, Lady along. Is just I scared she wont get used to it as she hardly go out to socialise.

Could anyone just give me a good suggestion where to tie her? And by the way......remind you guys again...She is a DANE!!! A gentle giant I would say, towards human beings, not hairy dogs......Blush

I want to bring her together becoz it will be a great time to teach her to socialise and all...or else, she wont be able to meet all the friends for the rest of her life....Frown

Oh...by the way, I will bring sandwiches for all of you.Smile I wont dress up Lady. Dont know where to buy her clothes. She is way too big.Crazy

Till then....see you all on Coming Saturday! Cheers mike!

(P/S: I hope I can go......deh...my boss can change his mind last minute...Unsure)

Re: [stanley] Christmas Dress-up Party

Hi Stanley,

Khoo BG already posted the direction in his earlier posting. I will repost it here...

Also, pls. visit www.kotakemuning.net for the direction.

Re: [cdmoo] Christmas Dress-up Party

Hi dog lovers, I'm new to this forum.
I read with great interest this coming X'mas gathering at KK. The reason is I'm staying in KK and didn't know there are so many dog lovers staying around this area.
Oh yes I better intro myself. My name is Derrick (not that Derrick) some of you might have seen me before in the dog show which I'm quite active. I show my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Boston Terriers. I'm not young like most you are but not that old too, still can participate in dog activities.
I have 4 kids and all are dog lovers.
I hope I can make it to the coming gathering and meet all you doggie pple.
CheersWink

I guess all dogs (except Lady) are doing just fine and enjoy the outing as we human. Elly's Lady need more to socialize with other dogs more often and with a few more sessions, Lady should be able to enjoy like others.

Re: [lex] Christmas Dress-up Party

TongueHi lex

Great to meet you and lady!! Your lady is such a cute little gal!! I love her on sight!! hahaha!! Well, she is really a lap dog if compare to my Teddy. Wink She seems to love sitting on ppl's lap! Teddy dun really like that as it gets pretty hot after awhile so he prefer to sit on the floor where its colder.

Its nice to see everyone and all the furkids enjoy each other. Its pretty funny to see Rex and another lab (sorry didnt get the name) chasing after Biscuits everywhere especially in the pond!Laugh I was LOL enjoying the scene where Mr Khoo was chasing after his ROn (very very adventurer dog) all around the pond. LaughWinkTongue Everyone and furkid was sooo into each other but Ron was having fun running wildly everywhere... LOL Laugh

Rex is so friendly to everydog he sees on sight! Its so nice of him to tried so hard on trying to be friend with Lady the Dane (pitifully tied at the pole)Tongue but then to no avail.

Teddy is shy towards ppl as I seldom socialize him with ppl. As for other dogs, I guess he handles it well, although sometimes he might get Crazy bonkers!

Its great to meet everyone there! Laugh

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Regards
Lisa

Good morning one and all

It was my first outing with you guys and both Jodie and me enjoyed ourselves very much.Smile

All the dogs were so cute and adorable and you guys were friendly and terrific too! It's as if we've known each other for ages!SmileLaugh

I understand from Webmaster Khoo that this would be held on a monthly basis. If so, I would love to join you guys regularly. Jodie needs all the socialisation she needs at her age and I'm glad there's a place and time for her to indulge in this.

THanks again everyone! Jodie says hello! Woof woof!

Sorry, Sorry........SORRY!

Sorry to Mr. Khoo, Mr. Moo, Mr. Arthur, Gina.....everyone!

Special thanks to BOON and CY!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for bringing me and Lady to this wonderful gathering. If not without you guys...Lady wont be able to meet all the furkids. And I must confess.....It was very very very nice to meet all of you!!! Seriously!!! And I hope Lady enjoyed it too....

Till then, hope to see you guys again on coming gathering....only if I'm invited lah.....hihihihihihihUnsure

Last, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR to all the members of puppy.com.my.
