Bathing Problem Can't Post

Hello to everyone!

I have been bathing kiddi once in a week and the problem is how do I clean her face? Now her fur change to beige colour and will tend to get dirty easilyFrown

The dirt won't go off by just wiping it...

Anyone can advice me in this matter?

Thank you!

I'm having the same problem too. Eventhough I wash the dirty area with shampoo, the stain still there. Is there any solution?

Melanie, same goes for my dog. He hates getting his head or face wet. Well, I used to let the water from the hose run down from his head and then quickly rub while avoiding water from getting into his ears. I guess the best solution is to wipe his face with a wet towel which is what I do now. Saw this once on TV Wink.

I would suggest you to use a cloth wetted with Johnson Baby Shampoo Tearless one to clean those areas daily. After drying the coat, you may put Baby powder so that the powder will absorb the wetness around the area you mentioned.

Mackay,

i tried to use shampoo to wash Daren face. but after i dry out his coat, his face still leave residual which cannot clean it up just like guy put some Gel/Jelly on his hair.

somemore, i comb and wipe Daren twice daily but his fur on his face and upper eye cant shape it! so while he shakes his body, the fur sure block his sight.

somebody said Daren like "so hai" cos all his fur block his eye. Mad want to tie his fur but his fur no long enough! can anyone help me?

Yuki

What I do with my pup is use a damp towel and try to get as much residue out as possible. As for shaping his fur, I'm sorry, I can't help you there.. never owned a long-haired dog before. Just don't give a damn to the person who told you that your dog looks like a "so-hai"... If I can remember correctly, that is a very vulgar word. I'm sure Daren is a beautiful dog who shouldn't be called such things!

You can also try using your fingers to get it off... a bit disgusting, but it gets the job done, lol.

I think I know how your heart must jump whenever Daren falls off. My heart does the same everytime my dogs do something like that!

well, they keep doing it, so i guess they are ok for now - can't be hurting them - although I'm always so scared they might twist their leg or something. I guess dogs are not dumb, huh?

yeah i think luckey is really accident prone! But she doesnt seem to mind at all! she'll get so overzealous and jumpe up and fall over backwards coz she wants u to scratch her tummy ! last night she bumped her head in the car doing that! but not so bad as when she was a pup and bumped against a concrete wall!

Hi Yuki,

Kiddi has the same problem when all her fur blocking her sight...so what I did was to trim her fur whenever she is asleep (normally in the afternoon - her laziest time).

Altough it looks funny but ok lor...u keep on practising till u know which cutting is the bestWink

Becarefull not to hurt her with your scissor!!!

Good luck

hi melanie,

ST is over-active! even he just wake up he still can be very active soon. so is hard for me to trim his hair cos he always looking around when i comb him, unless i'm very angry then he just let me comb........Blush

anyway, i'll try to bring him to professional for grooming cos he will be very quite while facing stranger! Sly

That's wonderful! Mine will only stand still if i give him the stand command, if i don't he'll try and move slowly to the corner of the bathroom....when it's time for his bath time and i say the words "pom pom" he'll run to the corner and hide....for someone who likes to swim he sure doesn't like his baths. Glad Mocca is being a good girl about it!

LOL. I'm glad she's being so good about it too! Trust me, bathing a pup who keeps trying to run away or jump on you is a real chore. Yesterday I kept on repeating "Good Girl" as I was bathing her... she tried to "hug" me once or twice, but other than that, I finished relatively dry Wink. At least your dog will stand still if you tell him to Smile

I bathe Mocca on a leash to keep her from running too far, lol. I'm still waiting for the day that she behaves like Sandra... Sandra will stand perfectly still without a leash/collar. And I taught her to shake on command - I can step away and tell her to shake, that way I don't get wet. Now if only Mocca would do that....

HI Melanie,
My Jazz doesn't like bathing as well.. but as for the face and the goo coming out from thier eyes, you can always buy 'tears out' from the pet shop and wipe it against thier eyes or simply take cotton balls soak them in warm water and gentle wipe it off thier face, repeat this a few times and it will go off in no time. You might also the food you prepare for your doggie. Certain dog food are 'heaty' and causes your doggie to produces even more goo coming out from thier eyes!!

Hello,

Tks for the advice, and yes, sometimes I do notice quiet a lot of 'goo' at the side of her eyes. Normally I'll just take it out using my finger tip which I think quite uncomfortable for her, thats why she keep on moving here and there.

I was told to use dettol antiseptic to wipe her fur and the face , do u have any idea?

Tks

Hi Tisha,

U can always train Mocca like how u trained Sandra!!

Thats effective , mind to share how you manage to keep her stand still while bathing?

And the 'shake command' very good..

HI Melanie,

I think you should at least soak the cotton bud first instead of taking it off from your fingers.. not so hygiene and most importantly, it' hurts as thier 'goo' tends to stick on thier eye lashes or fur... you can always go down to your nearest pet shop to buy the 'Tears Wipe' just like Ear Powder.. :)
