Sorry for the late reply..and thanks for ur advise..well, i think we are being very sensitive to both hugo and hazel and always treats them fairly.. just cant understand why the terrier is still being very "chuin (stuck-up)" towards the GR..really need to find a way/method to get them along..
i think it's pretty natural for terriers...my mixed terrier also the same...very "chuin" towards the dalmatians. whenever i pat the dalmatians, she would slam her whole body on them...luckily both my dalmatians are patient enuf or my terrier would be their doggy snack... ....
hahaha doggy snack..yeah..especially in my case..one super small and one is a huge fella. Oh! And I also just got a new silky terrier (male) named Harry (almost 2 months). Hopefully Hazel and Harry will slowly slowly get along and play together. Hazel is still very "chuin" but Hugo, though so huge as compared to the pup, is so excited to see Harry.. Wish me luck !
another silky??...make sure Hazel and Harry don't team up just to bully Hugo .."The Silky Terror"...ahahaaa....
since Hugo had a postive reaction on the new fella, it shouldn't be a problem.they will get along just fine... i guess the only problem would be bald spots on your GR..puppy loves to bite!!!!
Aiy..talking abt GR having bald spots..I think it's gonna be the other way round with Harry being "bathed" with Hugo's saliva..dunno why Hugo's saliva is dripping all over Harry whenever he smells Harry???... dunno if this is considered "hamsap" but both are males !!!
And guessed there wont be any "Silky terrors" YET coz both Hazel and Harry also still not playing together yet ..really hope they will..
hohoho..."bathed" by Hugo's saliva....good la...just apply shampoo on Harry and voile, your assistant, Hugo will "rinse" the shampoo off him....save time!!!
don't worry..it takes time for Hazel accept the new fella, but not impossible...good luck!!
my poor Hazel is now avoiding Harry..when he is in the living room, she will go to the kitchen and when he goes near her, she will runaway !! Hmmm..wonder when they will get along..
do you have this problem? mayb u can share to me some trick u did to get them along..hahaha
hmmm...introducing a cat counted? when i first introduce my cat(teenage cat then) to my dogs, they were like "destined to kill each other"..loads of growling and barking as well as clawing.....so when they start to growl i would raise my voice and smack them...after a few times, they got the message, if they fight they will be punished..it took almost 1-2 weeks for them to get along..
Hmm..Hazel doesnt bite Harry nor fight with Hugo..She just ignores them whenever they go close or near her. If they get too close to her, she would growl or bark at them..other than that, she does her own thing in her own private little world ! Hahaha
well, if it's not severe...just clean the wound with a disinfectant n spray some medicine but if it's worse, go n see the vet. meanwhile, juz seperate both of them
hmmm..my Hazel also can be the 2nd "pah pai poh" !! come to think of it..she is like an empress at home with all attention and love but when there are other dogs, she very "lau ya" one...aiy
