Come on, how to have a purebred dog when it is not in the dog breed book?
The Leonberger dog is registered and is belongs to the working breed group – FCI group 2.2
The dog is German origin and named after the city of Leonberg. The dog was developed to have a resemblance to the lion in the city’s crest.
The dog is about the same height then a St. Bernhard dog but slimmer and more active. Both are mountain dogs and are double coated. The Leonberger dog has webbed paws which makes him an excellent swimmer.
Anyway, if you like to learn more about the breed then feel free to visit the Leonberger web-site
