hm... my dane sleep in the afternoon too...dunno how much time they sleep. Smile

Yup...ppl scared b'cos of its XXXL size!!Shocked
My girl is consider well behaved when I bring her out for walk... probably I am very strict to her. When I say STAY...she wouldn't move even there is another dog walking nearby. There was once when I brought her out...she saw a cat and started chasing it. I shouted at her so LOUDLY.... and she lowered down her body especially her head...I guess she knew I was so angry at her... from that time onwards..she dun dare to chase anymore.Smile

As for Raven, he is still young and very playful..and I have to put him in the cage until his ears are fully healed... shall have some tough time handling himUnsure

Have a Great Day.

Smile scared at first anyway, then once find out she's a dane..complete opposite...

but then for me...i'm not so afraid of dogs...the reason why i get away from bigger dogs is because i'm afraid they might fight/bite mineUnsure

wow...crystal very well behaved..my command for silky is stop..she'll stop walking/running..then only stay...but for cats........different story..scream how loud also no diff..only later can use "leave it" and "let's go"

P.S. got a new working dogSmile but not a GD though..a dobermann..need a running guard dog..dad said GD doesn't have a fierce enough lookUnsure

Re: [sslee80] Stamina [In reply to] Can't Post

out of all 3..Tyson knows the most..2nd Silky then only Hazel(she was nvr trained by her previous owner)

Tyson knows: sit, down,stand,stay,come,heel,speak,sit up,shake hand,this way,leave it,stop,catch,inside,out

Silky:sit,down,stay,stand(not very good),come,heel(not very good),shake hand, up,inside,out

Hazel: so far only taught her how to walk on the leash. and a small trick "hug" and come

Hazel the dobe was adopted..the poor girl loves ppl but her previous owners deprived her of attention. Because of the poor quality food, she developed alot of skin problemsUnsure but it's now alot betterSmile

wow...you must be very patient with your dogs... they know quite a lot of commands though...Smile
As for hazel, I think she is still trainable if you isolate her during the training...so that there is no distraction...

out of the 3, I find tyson is the cutest. Smile Always the last during a slow walk... Sly I was surprised to see tyson and hazel playing "wrestling" at the field. Kind of rough...don't they? Just the way I feel.
Well... I bet when tyson is fully grown up... he may be the big bullier!!

It is good to hear that you adopted hazel.... I bet she brings extra joy to your family..Wink

Smilehi..patient? nah...they're pretty quick learners

i put extra effort in Tyson because i did some research and found out that bullmastiffs can be stubborn and will not do so well with training..but Tyson was fineSmile learned quickly. He learnt the commands in abt 2 1/2 mths

yea..will have to do that for Hazel..but if I really can't, will have to enrol her in the training class by MKA.

hehe..tyson is of course the baby boy of the familySmilehaha..yea..they were kinda rough..but it's ok..as long no one gets hurt. Smile i'm really curious though..what will happen in abt 5mths time when Tyson's grows bigger than Hazel..

extra joy and extra energySmile

Re: [RealityDreamer] Stamina [In reply to] Can't Post

I guess the owner is smart too...or else, how could the dogs learn fast....right??Smile

Oh ya...bullmastiffs can be stubborn. You do the right thing by putting more efforts in Tyson when he is still young. He should be fine when he grows older...

Training class for Hazel...? Could be an option if really can't train her by yourself. But is there an age limit for enrolling dogs for training?

Really rough "fighting" between Tyson and Hazel....
It helps to develop muscles, right? yea... I think Hazel won't disturb Tyson anymore... in 5 months time

extra energy? it is worth it right??? Tongue

Have a Great Day.

Re: [sslee80] Stamina [In reply to] Can't Post

the owner smart at teaching the dogs Tongue not necessarily smart

don't think there is an age limit..but to learn the basics have to enrol her in Puppy Kindergarten..Tongue abit malu in class with all the lil puppies and she's the oldest...she might feel "inferior" lol

hehe..if they still play,it will be interesting..

speed vs. strengthSmile

the extra energy definitely worth it..now can jog around with less fear/worrySmile

USJ 5? your area also... em..... never see before-lar.

Oh...ya, yesterday morning, I brought crystal for a long morining walk. We passed-by the USJ 2 field (the one that your dad mentioned) and no one was there though. Crystal was tired and refused to run....
I guess she does not use to have morning walk...Wink
You know, it is quite a distance from my place to the field.

How do u know whether a dog is tired??

Re: [ritchie_dog] Stamina [In reply to] Can't Post

you are most welcome to join us... Tell us about your GSD. What's the name of your dog, how old,....etc.
Well, 20 to 30 minutes twice a day is sufficient for dog, I guess. Have you tried to walk your dog in longer duration before? How did the dog react?

I have two danes, crystal(I year 5months) and raven(4 months). I walk crystal two times or maybe three times a day. Depending on whether I have free time or not. At night, my brother will bring her for marathon run...hehehehe... to make her muscles firm.... raven is still young. He just had his ears cropped. So, got to quarantine him so a month...

Oh ya, Reality Dreamer also walk her dogs everyday, right??? CHLOE??? She has 3 sweeties though...

Have a Great Day.
