hey there manshaan welcome ... by having over 20 years of experience in this type of breed would be a good for us here.. do share with us some of your experience here ..would appreciate it .. hope to see you someday. .. any luck so far for a puppy ?? Dear estorial, thank you for the kind words. Well I have only had 3 dobermans in total so far in 20 years. Im still young, and do remember a few things about my dogs. Ill share some good & bad points about dobermans. The problems for dobermans that dont have their ears cropped always results in a vein burst in their ears. Have you all experienced that with your dogs before with non cropped ears ? Being a very energetic dogs, flappy ears do pose the problems of internal bleeding in the ears. Thats a common problem that all 3 dobe's of mine faced, cause their ears were not cropped I suppose. We had 2 american bloodline dobermans (both males) & the current old one is a local doberman (female) . The 2 american ones posed the problem of tape worms often for some reason. The local one has non. Out of all the dobermans, the local has so far been the best. Obidient, intelligent, witty, extremely energetic & of course as most dobermans - loyal. The males of course posesed a different temperement of being sly (always running out of gates), playful, aggressive, stuborn but yet loyal. I even have a boomerang shaped scar just below my right eye from my first doberman that bit me by mistake while trying to catch a fly. I was 5 and wheeped. Its stupid Hallmark moments like these when you realise dobermans have feelings for being sorry. After returning from the doctor with an eye patch, the dog kept on peeping through the window the whole night at me. Looked pretty regretful. I presume this happens in the nature of the bloodline. Although this comment is best reserved for breeders. There is an interesting fact that I know about dobermans though that I have never heard from others. Dobermans are very protective (male & female) if you have a new born baby in your family. My brother is expecting & the baby would be in my home most of the time once its born and having a doberman there, ill let you know how the dobe reacts to a baby soon. What I can say about dobermans as a conclusion is, being around them up till now, its hard to switch breed. I was thinking of a labrador but got that out of my head. Its hard to switch from one dogs nature to another. I love the nature and the loyalty they have towards their owners, being extremely intelligent, alert, and always ready whenever you are, and easily trained. Plus point besides their nature is they look intimidating even when they are sleeping. But its a well engineered breed so to speak for me. PUPPY : Still no luck on my side. Im still looking & have have seen in the papers often for them. Last week there were 2 doberman adds. They were local & imported. Surprisingly I realised in the past 3 months, all pups are claimed to be from a champion bloodline. There used to be an old man in Old Klang Road who used to breed them but not anymore sadly. He used to have very very good puppies. Thats where I bought my last one. Ill try and post pics soon of me ol lady I have.
