Aiya. I was gonna post the topknot tying process so that we all can enjoy the 'showlook' topknot with our precious shih tzus together but the picture cannot be added lah...

Nevermind, persistence shall prevail, I will try and try again until the pictures and the the step-by-step prosedures are finally in Goss-Fest.

Next time we will ask you. We might make it a weekend lor, because you start your new semester liao and it might be hard for all of us to get together on weekday as Hun also will start her new semester in Feb and I still have to work fulltime until end of Feb.

Right...thats it...Im hooked!!!...thanks to Esther and MisterStan...what an excelent place to read about Tzus and just shoot the breeze in general.

I got a question...are Tzus known to be retrievers??? Teebo will chase a sqeaky rubber ball and bring it back to my feet and drop it on comand...Im quite impressed with this and wonder if I might be able to upgrade to frizbee at some time.

Also annie and I would like to hook up with you guys f you ever have a Tzu get to gether, we live in Sri Damansara (corner link) and I would like to have a 1st birthday for Teebo some time and would love to see the lawn full of tzus running around...so if ya interested let me know in the next month or so (Birthday is towards the end of March)

And no, my ST does not have retriever tendencies as much as I would like him to have (any exercise would do him good). He's like a queen and (subconsciously) orders those around him to do his bidding.

Oh wow, are you seriously gonna let us, shih tzu owners, to use your house for a shih tzu party? Hey, perhaps Teebo and BB can share the birthday party and share the cost a little! Tongue BB's birthday is in March too and he's a pretty typical Arien... Tongue

Anyway, this thread is meant for all. Not only shih tzu owners need apply, shih tzu fanciers and admirers can also use this thread to voice their opinion about anything and everything.

BB looks really funny now. I just got back from his breeder's house (we have a strong relationship) and she taught me a new way of tying BB's topknot to avoid breakage. I must have done it wrong cos the hair on tht top of BB's head look like 2 antennas! Hahahaha!

About your question on shih tzus being natural retrievers, I have my doubts. They can be trained to do anything because our babies are really smart little creatures, but as for Teebo retrieving without you or Annie teaching him how, well, I can only say that Teebo is a genius lah... Laugh BB still can't fetch properly even if my, his mommy's, life depended on it. Hahahahaha!

Will start a poll for your query about your absolutely fabulous shih tzu party idea... (Hey, we told you we were gonna be good hosts! Tongue)

Shih Tzu gathering is good idea but have 2 ?s for you:
(1) where's the venue (transport may be problem for me if too far or I dunno place (me very blur & no sense of direction)
(2) got age limit for owner or not? I am already very old lah - older than auntie already. can still join or will I be kill-joy?
Serious - need answers to above b4 I can see if my name & faith's can be added.

What is kill-joy?? Oh, don't bother explaining it as 'party-pooper'. There are no such word in my fun-loving vocabulary. Hahahahaha!

I am an aunty also... I have several nieces and if that's a measument of my age, surely I habis lor! Our love for shih tzus is not discriminating and I hope it will never be lah! Personally, I think all members in puppy.com.my share my un-biased, un-askewed view lah... (But that's only my unhumble opinion... Tongue)

The venue will be in Graeme's house in Damansara. For further referral, please refer to his post in this thread. Graeme (username Enzzy) and Annie are parents of Teebo who will be celebrating Teebo's 1st birthday.

Owners of shih tzus must be responsible for their own babies so that Graeme and Annie won't have to do more work after the birthday party lor. If they are alright with it, I'd like to celebrate BB's 1st birthday together with Teebo because that way I can share the cost! Hahahahahaha!

Faith and you should come if you are alright with my explanation to your question... By the way, how's the heartworm protection coming along?

HERE'S A LITTLE INSIDER SECRET ON TABLE TRAINING A SHIH TZU (COURTESY OF MISS ROSE):

BB's breeder taught me this step to table train a puppy:

(a) put puppy on table

(b) pull puppy from his hind legs gently and let the 2 hind legs dangle off the edge of the table (but still hold him ya! Tongue), then watch for this sign <<his front paw clawing as if to get back up on the table>>. do two or three times.

(c) put puppy back onto table and tell him that's what's height means

(d) push puppy gently face forward and force him to look down from the table's edge to see that "height=danger"

(e) grab puppy's whole body, pick him up from table and pretend that you're gonna drop him off onto the floor. do this two or three times and say stuff like, "scared, scared".

(f) put puppy back onto table and say something like "height" or "stay put" (I say "table" to BB). Watch him go to the edge and whimper for you to pick him up but ignore him, keep on repeating the word and reward him on the table itself after a few minutes.

(g) try table training puppy again after an hour or so but forgo steps (b) to (e).

Try and see if it can work or not lor. At least that's what BB's breeder taught me and it worked on BB. Should work on your puppy also lah... Good Luck!!
