hi ! i'm a 14 yrs old student, n i wish to be a volunteer at SPCA, i just printed the form, but i havent ask my daddy yet, but i think he would say yes... aiyah, wheer got father dun want his son to be kind-hearted one... hahaha !!! ok, n there's a problem... im just 14 n im still studying, so i could only go to spca at school holiday or saturday n sunday... besides, transport is also a problem, im staying at kepong, wangsa permai, nearby there's selangor bus... how can i get there by selangor bus? holiday left 2 weeks only, i wanna do something special...

First and formost

thummbs up .. you have such a warm heart for the furkids there. I am sorry that I could not bring you there because the last time I went there, I also had difficulty to find the place.

What I can tell you is : SPCA is just opposite Flamingo Hotel. cross the road and walk straight left hand side. .. (quite far) Perhaps you can ask your dad to drop you there.

For me Paws is near as I stay in Subang Jaya. If you can take the train from Sentral to KTM carrefor then maybe I can pick you but it's faaarrrr from kepong to here...

Ask yr dad ... and better go with adult cos sometimes the doggies there got "angin" ... The last time I go with a big pack of treats.. then all the dogs came to me so I was a bit shocked! Luckily got the workers there to help.. (at Paws)

sorry, do not know any buses to AMPANG from KEPONG.

but you can take the komuter/putra lrt to SPCA at AMPANG PARK/KLCC.

Just take the ktm komuter from KEPONG to KL SENTRAL, and take the putra lrt to AMPANG PARK/KLCC, and hope someone can give you a lift to AMPANG SPCA. but i am not sure how far is it from AMPANG PARK/KLCC to AMPANG SPCA.. it might be near... it might be far....

u mean, from kepong station to Klcentral, then from kl central to ampang park? wah, damn confusing la, student like me go so far sure sesat one... a bit scared lar... hope other member here can go with me :P hahaha !!!

thx for ur information... ok, maybe i'll just take taxi lar, but dunno expensive or not... how long do u think i need from kepong to spca? half an hour? 45 mins? aiyoh, wish there's spca kepong... hahaha !!! for this christmas, my wish is; to know how to drive(so that i could just drive to spca *LOL*)

i think if the dogs got 'angin' i'll just follow u, give them treat lor... or maybe i'll just stick with the pups... :P actually, what can i do thhere to help? i dun think i could pick up the poos... maybe i can walk the dogs, bath n groom the dogs leh... what do u think?

Not only students can get sesat there.. we all drive round and round and nearly gave up.. but persistence pays.. so we found the place after 2 hours!

I think taxi would cost about 15.00 from kepong to there.. Hope some members read your post and then can give you a lift.

A list of things that you can do is listed at the SPCA WEBSITE. Maybe you call them better. Paws might work differently... I go and sayang the puppies and also talk to visitors when they go and see the pups..

Good luck to you and may you find your way there.. sure the pups day will be brighten with your visit.

wow !!! 2 hours man !!! but i think taxi wont sesat lah, they sure know the way mah... actually, what's the difference between spca n paws?

yea, all i wanna do is sayang the pups n dogs... but i feel sorry to those pups n dogs who will be put to sleep... they dun even know what is love, so i think more people should go n visit spca, at least also play n sayang the dogs... at least they know what is love...

Hi Justin,

You can take Selangor bus from Wangsa Permai to Medan Pasar (Central Market) and walk to Putra LRT station at Masjid Jamek and head to Ampang Park station. From there you could take a taxi to SPCA Ampang. It would approximately take you about 1 hour 30 minutes to reach there depending on the traffic.

Else you could ask your parent to send you there via MRRII which takes about 30-40 minutes.

The other nearer LRT station is Jelatek Station which is situated 10 minutes to Jln Ampang/Great Eastern Mall and its nearer to ampang point

i am not a volunteer at SPCA, and i only have been to SPCA once...

directions to AMPANG SPCA:

1) Take the ktm komuter from kepong to kl sentral

2) From kl sentral, take the putra lrt to Ampang Park/KLCC

* Minglmy say that you can take the putra lrt from KL SENTRAL to JELATEK, as JELATEK is nearer to AMPANG SPCA/GREAT EASTERN MALL and nearer to AMPANG POINT... It only takes about 10 minutes from JELATEK STATION to Jalan AMPANG/GREAT EASTERN MALL

Hi,

How nice your are.

You can also join the volunteer teem on saturday & sunday, after school open. Usually the volunteer will start on 8.30am or 9am until noon. I've been there several time.

You can also try to log on SPCA website, ask them to fax location MAP to you, if you dad willing to travell you to spca. (Tel : 4256-5312 / 4253-5179)

If you wish to take LRT or KTM, as member suggest. Do you know STAR ??? You can take STAR also to last station called `AMPANG' ! Then get a TAXI to there....From Ampang station or KLCC station to SPCA will take 1/2 hour. (not on working hour, for sunday only) If you got map more easier for taxi driver refer, maybe some of them don't know SPCA ???!!!

wow, it takes 1 hour 30 mins ar ?!! wah... so far, dunno my dady let or not, maybe i'll just tell him i go 1-utama lar... hahaha !!! wa, kinda confusing also, ok, first i take ktm from kepong station to central park, then from central park walk to ampang/klcc(is it far?) then from there take taxi to spca... wah, i'm afraid that i might sesat...

but maybe i try to call taxi, ask them wether they know how to get there or not... wah, taxi fare sure mahal lo... gotta bring RM50, but maybe tomorow i could go there, coz i ajak my friends go ice skating at sunway, i cancel it, then go spca lo, but i wont tell my dad... err, from sunway piramid how to go spca? will it be nearer? my mum will fetch me, to sunway... then from sunway how to go spca? i wish there's a spca kepong... huh... so far...

Don't try to 'tipu-tipu' to your mom, not nice ! If something happen to your, your family surely got NO 2nd for you out alone !!! Just tell her honestly, you wish to be there with your friends, Before that, make sure can stand the doggie small !

Sunway....no LRT, KTM or STAR....the nearest is Kelana Jaya or Subang parade got KTM ! You better go with you parent...

Since you are going from Sunway, why not go to PAWS. It's nearer compare to SPCA.

i was thinking if anyone could go there with me, in case i feel malu malu there... u know, im not really smart, scared i did something wrong then the people there think im useless... hahaha !!! btw, any of u here r volunteer? any1 stay near kepong n have been to spca before? teach me how to get there lar, easiest way as possible, very confusing lar, if take bus n train... taxi leh?

Hi...

MRRII stand for Middle Ring Road Two. The easiest way to SPCA is by driving there. I stay in Sri Damansara but never been to SPCA....only passed by that area a few times.

Mm....cool down...I used to be like you when I'm your's age. Not saying you be lepak-lepak or smoke. But why don't you get support from your's family first, sure your mom will agree for that. Like others member said, PAWS are so near from sunway, just take 15 to 20 min. only. Althrough you're not volunteer of PAWS, you can be there also. If you from Kepong to SPCA Ampang, min. will take 1 1/2 hour (not working hour). From Kepong, you must pass from LDP to Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) !

I think you must be go SPCA once 1 week (at least), after you be volunteer. Coz quite lot of activitie wil be held at SPCA. Also must be pantual and responsible.....

I don't mean to disappointed you, hurt you, also no right to give a lesson to you....But for me, volunteer are independent.

hi there,

i might be going to spca ampang this sunday or next sunday... i am staying in cheras, but i can pick u up from an lrt station... is there a star or putra lrt station near u?

as a volunteer, u only go to help out as and when u have the time... it is not compulsory that u go there every week... that is not wat volunteering is all about... it is up to ur time and flexibility...

You are such a wonderful boy. All the pups in the world will love you! Yeah, at least they feel loving hands "sayan-ing" them.

After reading all your replies I think... steps :

1. get permission from your parents :

2. set a date and committ to it. ie

3. plan where you want to go paws or spca. if you are going to paws, i can go along with you. I pick you from the KTM but you must tell your mom/dad what's happening. If they don't agree, well then don't go . There is always another opportunity.

4. You mention about sunway pyramid to spca... it is like travalling backwards.. and it will be a loonnggg journey. So it is better to allocate your time properly okie..

5. Paws and spca are animal shelter. They welcome people who love the dogs, and for paws it is open from 10.00am to 4.00pm everyday . I chose Paws to frequent cos nearer to my place.

err, i asked my parents already, they say its good to be kind, but they scared the dogs very dirty, coz most of them r stray... n when they know where's spca, they said its too far, so tehy wanna think about it again...

the date ar, anytime(holiday, sat n sun)

erm, i guess i'll go to paws, coz its nearer... heard that it takes 1 hour 30 mins from kepong to spca... btw, paws also got dogs n cats that need love, so its the same...
