Hello, sorry for taking so long to reply. Boxers are loveable boisterous dogs. They can be stubborn but they are very very loyal. My grandma is 70 over and my boxers have never hurt her or jump on her. They do like to jump on people coz it's the breeds personality for saying hello but it can be trained by lifting your leg away fom the dog and saying no. My dogs only jump on me when I give them command to hug hehehe. They never jump on other people. The breed is very loyal, so obedience, yes. They can be very good dogs. In some countries, boxer are used to lead the blind and disabled as well as trained guard dogs for defence. Of couse, if you never train them, sure can't do much. They aren't agressive if properly socialised during puppyhood. hey love family and love being with people. Also, they will neve bite, only lots of playful mouthing once a while but they will never hurt anyone unless they are trained to bite for guad purposes. Don't shed much. They have very very short fur, smooth coat and easy to groom. Easy to bath also , takes less than 1/2 hour to bath a boxer completely. They are also clean dogs, can be indoors also. This breed likes to be around people. If you work long hours, I suggest you get a pup older than 4 months or if younger, make sure your mom is around during the day to keep the pup company. For my boxers, 2 of them stayed as indoor dogs for their 1st year since 2 months old in m parents' room to bond with my dad. He's the leader of the family so the dogs need to learn to respect him so needs to be close to him during puppyhood. My dad works the same hours as you. So when he is back from work, he does an hour of training and play with the boxers, he feeds them and this makes the boxers know that he is boss, he has to be respected, he is alpha. During the day, my boxers ahve a lab to company them, we are rarely at home during the day and only got human company around 3pm later.... so if you get enough stimulating toys, on a radio if needed and make your home puppy proof, I see no problem in getting one. Boxers can cost RM800 and less for no cert. For cert, RM1000 above.... A good pup would cost you RM1200-1500. Hope this helps. Willy, my beloved shih tzu (22 March 1994- 8 August 2005) May you rest and live happily in Rainbow Bridge with the rest. You will forever be deeply missed by all. Puppies and kittens, helpless and innocent are always roaming the streets as strays. Adopt from animal shelthers to save them. THEY NEED YOUR HELP AND LOVE
