Re: [sharon82lim] Beagle Behaviour & Attitude!! [In reply to] Can't Post

hi sharon

when i brought henry for the first time to PD, he scared of the waves, and also scared to swim. So my friend help by teaching him how to swim. My friend just put henry in the water, but still holding on to him, and slowly push him forward. And after some time, my friend just carry him in the water and put him in the water, and he know how to use his legs and hands to swim.

Very hard to get henry into the water, so i gotta go to shore and carry him in to the water.

Hi,

All you need to do is just lead him to the water and tell him that it's alright using a comforting tone,of course u have to make sure ur puppy is old enuff to swim(at least 5 months). U wont succeed by persuading cos they are not stupid enuff to listen to you when they are so scared. Just carry him into the shallow water and let him play first and slowly lead him to deeper water....make sure u let him try for a while 1st and dont expect him to swim like an expert the 1st few tries....make sure u dry him properly after the swim or he will get a cold....just like us....hehe....LOL.....

I have a 5 months old beagle bitch by the way.....i plan to breed her when she approaches 16 months or more........Your son looks handsome and sturdy to me....looks like a good stud dog to me but i will have to assess him myself when i see him.....My female is a tan and white bitch with blanket tan all over her body, quite a rare marking around. She is a brood bitch and is suitable for breeding and most likely she will produce strong and healthy puppies......well mayb u can take down my number 012-3173071 first and give me a call when she is ready then....haha.....still a long time to come la.....time flies though.....anyway are u going to the puppy.com K9 day at bandar utama central park this 9 JAN 2005?? i will be there with two of my beagles.......hope to see u there....cheerss.......

well, terry,

u seems very excited about breeding ur beagle, well do hopw u're breeding for self interest and not for money, breeding is good if u breed for better quality so choose better stud dog and assure u re improving the breeding and not just simply breeding for the sake of selling the puppies. well would be happy to witness ur first litter, i have a female begale as well, i guessed u have asked me before.

Hi wais81,

Dont worry, i wont breed my beagles anymore after all this havoc. I just quit. I want no relation with breeding anymore and i will give away my beloved dogs to some ethical owners. I have no business with dogs anymore. I am a Cat person now. ;)

Re: [sharon82lim] Beagle Behaviour & Attitude!! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

I am not sure if this is useful.....but mayb u can try to stay somewhere in Sunway if u really have nowhere to stay. There is a student group that accomocates stray pets and finds pet homes for them somewhere around Sunway. They call themselves the Sunway Pet Rescue team i think......so i suppose they are willing to take care of your beagles for one day and play with them of course while u stay somewhere in a hotel in Sunway......Sun Inn opposite Sunway Pyramid is quite cheap.....about RM80 one room.....U can find out about the Sunway Rescue team somewhere in this Hounddog forum in recent posts. They are absolutely reliable in my opinion and they are hardcore animal lovers......good luck.....hope to see you at K9 day....look for my lemon white male beagle perhaps.......

hi ohmybeagle

sorry to interrupt.... The SPRV (Sunway Pet Rescue Volunteers) objectives is to rescue any stray pups/kittens and search for adopters to adopt them... and not to help people board their dogs while owners are away..

SlySlySlySlySlySly

sorry for what have happen ar....

hope to see you on k9 day...

Hi sharonlim,

I guess Stanley is half right.....they are not a boarding place for dogs......but if it's just for one night i think those dog lovers are more than willing to help you.....perhaps u should donate something to them....cash will be just fine....any amount.....just to show some help.....and then they can accomodate your beagles there.......at least u can try....i think they are good people and wont be so pettish.......Well if they are you can still try Pet Safari at Bandar Utama.....they have a nice pet hotel there.....but it's expensive ler.....i think 45 bucks per night per dog......Cheers.....

Re: [wais81] Beagle Behaviour & Attitude!! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Chris,

I am not breeding my beagle for money for sure. I dont lack of money anyway. Just want to see the next gen my beagle can produce.anyway i am not a professional breeder so i dont expect the obligation of breeding to the breed's excellence fall on me. I just want an ordinary litter. There are many buyers that cant afford champline so i am sure the puppies will go to good homes eventually. Worse to worse i will keep them myself. So i dont need to look for an excellent stud dog, by the way the breeders will not be kind enuff to let me use their stud cos my bitch is not qualified. I think every beagle in every home deserves to reproduce according to their master's will regardless of their quality. As long as their master can assure that the pups wont be stray dogs later then i think he/she can breed, unless u r suggesting that ugly humans should not have their own children and only beautiful human should in order not to pollute the human gene pool......i am sure u dont.....Cheers.....

Re: [ohmybeagle] Beagle Behaviour & Attitude!! [In reply to] Can't Post

well, rest assure i am a responsible owner, don't get me wrong here, i did not mean that ugly dogs cannot breed. i am just pointing out that breeding is a very committed work, breeders at large or breeders at home breeding their own furkid have to be responsible in choosing a suitable family for the pups. i am just asking you that question because i saw many of ur post asking ppl to breed, curious thats all, having said ur beagle bitch is only 5 months old, there is still a long way to go before breeding is possible. well i am very sure u r a good owner and will take care of you dogs very well. hope my opinion here will not only let other forumers here understand more about the importance of breeding correctly. and NO i am not suggesting that ugly dogs shouldn't be bred, i am just saying that breeding for better quality which means breeding to improve the breed, either ugly ones or not. well lets just keep our fingers crossed that nobody here in this forum would be irresponsible for their dogs. and about being cheated for your money by this lady. i guess a puppy that u like is priceless. i am sure there isn't a price for your beloved puppy isn't it. i personally own two shih tzu that has no certificate and i think thay are the most beautiful dog in the world. so don't hold the grudge in you and let go for what ever that is passed. anyhow, i have read most of your advice and opinions in this forum and well i do think you have ur rights and wrong, anyway they are of good intend and not harm. hope we could still hear from you in the forum. don;t give up okay

Re: [wais81] Beagle Behaviour & Attitude!! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Chris and ohmybeagle,

I felt what chris said is fair and good.. It's always nice to be encouraging and indeed when things are taken differently can mean totally different. I have been quite long in dog world and indeed it's hard to understand why things go wrong when we wanted to help and ask. Maybe saying too much is not right but to know what can be say and what can't be say is hard.

I felt there are a lot of controversial but i wouldn't want to add on to it. I respect Dr. john as we have been a real good friend and share many of our ideas about beagles. I welcome people to join us but just a little advice.. Never never criticies people openly.. It hard for some to accept.

To chris, I like your approach altough it seems that we were friends long ago but still never manage to meet each other. Maybe soon or when we have the time. I heard your pet shop is open...Congratulations and all the best..Smile

Anyway, UnsureI was also surprise to hear something bad about you towards me... For me it was quite unfriendly but as i always say, if it's not from you i can't believe it or make a fuss out of it.. I don't see a reason why people always think negative about each other.. Don't get me wrong Chris, that is what i hear from the dog people. If u want to clarify.. u can always give me a call.. 012-2181032..

Well, about the coming dog fair on the 9th.. I will be going i guess for the first time.. I will bring a pair. One of my young gal and also my ever famous Ben.. I hope to meet all the other beagle people aroud..

Do hope my intervention in this thread bring a nice approach and if there are things say wrongly.. hope you guys don't think badly.. With that.. I would like to wish all the hound group people Happy new year especially to all the beagle owners.. (Jay too)

Best regards,

Dennis LimSmile

well, Dennis,

although we might have known each other for quite a long time, but i hardly know you i suppose, and about clarifying stuff that u heard, firstly, i am not going to as i do not know what u have heard from other ppl, secondly i do not need to cause i think it is not necessary as i think that whatever i have said is just plain fact that i know. i know you're in this dog business for a longer time than i am and i do hope to learn from you one day. wei maybe its the misintrepretation of ppl and some add ons ppl adds made this whole fuss up. well all i can say is that i have only told some "ppl" in this business that your approach to me is kinda cocky in a way. its just that and i am not afraid to admit. and also there is no harm intended. all i am saying is the msg u replied to my post was abit cocky thats all. well hope you don;t mind that i am frank with you. i am just being honest. And may i know wats comng up on the 9th of this month. beagle meeting?.... well you could call me to if you want to share some info with me. Thanks to you i now know the backstabbing ppl in this industry. will mind my words from now on. thanks...take care

Re: [wais81] Beagle Behaviour & Attitude!! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Chris,

It's pretty sad to know that when i replied i sound cocky.. Unsure But frank to you.. I never meant to be so.. When your mum called me, I spend so much time talking to her and in fact i did give her some encouragement on your business.. To my understanding, she told me your dad wasn't supportive but I would say give it a try..

Anyway, I just like to advise you.. It hard to imagine when words transfer from one to another..Crazy I was so shock to hear as I believe we can be good friends since we share a very good interest together.. Let's not go further with all the fuss.. I am happy at least you make a point and admit your mistake..Smile Oh ya, I am not really into the dog business.. I would say more to the showing now as I am still pursuing my vet medicine course. It just that at times, I have some litters and just to find good homes for them..

Chris, I have learn my mistakes hardway and now I am advising you into it.. I wouldn't want you to make the mistakes as dog world is indeed very political and full of backstabbing. I think all this is cause by a great jealousy. Just keep it in your mind that never believe what people say but to judge your own with your own senses. Wink I admire the concept of your approach towards pets. Perhaps, we really should meet up someday for a more lenghty chat.

This coming weekend is a dog fair organise by puppy.com... It will be my first time joining it. I believe there will be alot of interesting stuffs.. and i would love to meet more beagle owners.. (misterstan)

Got to go now..

Best regards,

Dennis Lim Cool
