Re: [Khoobg] Quarantine [In reply to] Can't Post

Khoo,
Mack can learn new tricks in an hour time.Wink
But, as for Obedience..... erm, I'm considering MKA training course. I prefer to train mack by myself coz I wish he could interact more "human friendly" and not too "robotic". It's okay if he "understood but not follow", i think it's cute to see a dog KNOWS what i want, and think by himself whether he wanna listen and follow -- so called "personalities"Tongue
Hope you know what i'm trying to tell ya~

How is the smell of the stools. Does it smell like dog food or the smell of usual stools. The former will indicate that there is an indigestion problem.

If I'm there for Mack, sure i won't smell it!

But he is active all the time, doesn't look like SICK.
Could it becoz of he drink too much of water?

Re: [strawhoney] HELP! [In reply to] Can't Post

No, Mack is not in diarrhea, he poo regularly, morning and evening, just the "texture" not quite normal only...
My family and relatives used to be DOCTOR to our own dog during the past 2 decades, po-chai-yuen and panadol... but my experience told me that this is not right at all. My uncle's black lab died few months ago becoz of delay to bring him to the vet, and by that time to give him pet-medication, it was too late.Frown most of our dogs are pure bred, and my uncle felt so bad and regret that he didn't bring Ben to the vet at first time.... really "sayang" to lost such a lovely lab.

Re: [mackmack] HELP! [In reply to] Can't Post

Very true indeed!!Whenever my dog is sick,I would instantly want to bring the doggie to the vet...unless it's told by the vet that they cannot do anything....so use 'traditional house med'.....

I guess you should tell any one of your family members to bring him to the vet if the problem still persists...

Losing a dog is like losing a family member...I have experienced that before...when i was younger,I had this dog (can't remember what breed but she was very white and had long hair)..and she died because she ran out of the house and got run over by a car...the experience was really saddening that I cried and cried....sigh....live is really too short to have so many regrets...I suggest you bring him to see the vet...and things will get better after being examined by the vet...

Lots of hug hug for ....Smile and you too, don't worry too much.....Wink

Re: [strawhoney] HELP! [In reply to] Can't Post

right now, we'll bring our pets to the vet whenever there's health problems. But right now, I think Mack is jsut in the period of adjusting the environment change. I call everyday and night.... from what observed, he's getting better, but a bit "down" when his owner is not besides.

Re: [mackmack] HELP! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Ying,

I was at the quarantine station on last Saturday to see my friend's dog and the stool was also very watery. My friend brought a vet along into the quarantine station and the pet apparently found the dog to be normal and may just be having stomack upset. The VET found the dog's temperature to be normal and the dog remain active. The stools was very watery and has a smell of dog food that indicate digestive problem. The dog has since left the quarantine station.

Anyway, the above is the case for that dog. Monitor Mack closely and if the need arise, get Mack visit a vet will definitely bring you a lot comfort.

Cheers

Re: [Khoobg] HELP! [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks Khoo Smile

The case of your friend's dog sounds very familiar to Mack's case. Mack's stool still watery, but it's better than before. yeah... that's was what i thought too -- stomach upset. And he has changed from "puppy growth" kibbles to the Adult dog kibbles... he seems to feel the difference.... not KEEN to the food as he used to be.
Anyway, plan to bring him to the vet for blood test and stool test, and might make an appoinment for him to have heartworm-vaccination/medication (for prevention) coming soon.

Re: [mackmack] HELP! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Mack,
Its not unusual for dogs to have watery or loose stool for a few days after arriving from overseas.
Its because of the change in the water, temp and maybe a bit of stress but mainly the water.
Its normal ,I won't worry abt it too much.
regards
