My 4 months GSD got Hip problem

I feel really worry and sad because the doctor suspected my 4months GSD might be having symptoms of hip problem, i couldnt understand how can it be. My baby always will be jump while walking, i thought it might be normal for small puppies. Recently i brought him to clinic, and doctor found out that he is limping while walking. He told me that he might lack vitamins, and need to do x- ray, if the x-ray shows lack in bone, it need to be put for surgery, currently doctor advised us to give supplementary
tablets to make the bone stronger, and of course im aware that GSD should not put up weight and im controlling his food, but im worry about i might be losing the real structure for GSD, Can anyone advice me will the problem will effect when he grow up, can it be recover and back to normal GSD structure ? How can i bring him to normal ? Can anyone advice me, Im really worrying about my baby.... Plz help....
