Re: [ambermae] Puppycom Launched Dog Obedience Training for Publics and Members

mayb i had misunderstand aboout d buying issue.

yup. i went to training classes b4, but my dog get bored in d 1 hr routine. so i opt for another option of training which is more fun/ exciting, which can really keep her going n do everything fast. i don't think i need to hv a Champ Dog to understand ur condition. we'll now discussing about d drive issue, not standard sitting n d left position n heeling parallel 2 d dog shoulder level.

in ur case, amber is getting bored @ d training groud. coz she doesn't see any fun on it tat she'll anticipate for. eventhough OB training is strictly training, getting ur dog feel fun n excited is important. this is d way and d only way to make ur dog do d recall at top speed n heel wit her tail wagging.

how do u imagine other successful trainer manage to get their dog run towards them for a recall.. they'll definately answer u tat, their dog r rushing for d reward/praise. eventhough u r not allowed to carry treat or toys, u can alwiz make ur dog think that, she'll get her reward later. u can train her in this manner by not using food luring or even holding d food. instead place d food n toy far away from d training ground, n run/walk to get it later. then during d exam ground, she'll keep in mind that, now she perform, later she'll get rewarded.

i really dun understand how u'll came up wit such a high expectation that dog will perform superb when things getting serious. ur dog won't even now what is exam all about, whether she pass it or not.

as u know, OB performance r judge on d dog drive n ready to please d owner. if she's doing it slowly, this show tat she don't even enjoy doing it.

d reason y amber respond so well to ur newly taught command 'Hold' is becoz she find it entertaining. is something new tat really get her mind stimulated. n yeah ur right tat u wanted to teach her sumthing new apart from OB, she'll definately appreciate sumthing fresh.

from ur description on amber, she's definately a well trained dog tat already know all d command. is juz that she doesn't had d drive to performed well at obedience. as i heard from liping, d mka trainer, she said that if ur dog manage to show an understanding of d command, she definately can pass. lagging n slow juz get penalize.
